Had this song set on my computer as my alarm clock…. so good to wake up to:

  2. Yeah, I dig that song. Real tight

  3. Uncle Jesse Consopolis says:

I know you’ve already featured one of theirs, but these guys almost always have awesome samples

Just listening to lyrics from the Blue Blooded. Love this line:

“Stand on stage, acceptin a grammy
Most incredible (w)rapping since edible panties”

    • DH says:

I know, it may be a bit too commercial, but the sample cant be beat, and its off of the mixtape so its kinda underground.

  4. Busdriver Stu says:

Maybe they’re commercial, but both of them have got me poppin’, the second is a lot more dancy, but the first one just elevates my soul

  5. DH says:

Hot off of the new album, “How I Got Over”

  6. Terry Crews says:

the first like 25 seconds are some fast rapping. the rest is just smooth jazzy and makes me want to take my lady on a magical sailboat

  7. Haha, how did you ever stumble on that?

  8. JoeA says:

Um this one is not nearly as good as the other two but I know all the words so I guess that counts as catchy

  9. JoeA says:

    Fifa 10? Oh well

  10. DH says:

This is the second track off his new album, the song is better if you listen to the first track right before hand.

  11. mike says:

Best lyric of the song “I’m the arrow, you’re my bow. Shoot me forth and I will go.”

it popped up on my playlist and I had to share it

  12. DH says:

    Enough said.

  13. DH says:

    British Underground. Boom.

  14. mike says:

    2:10 to 2:22

  15. James Hylas says:

Chris Young the Rapper is dope. Look into more songs by him.

thought i’d start off the new year with my first song suggestion. stumbled upon it on youtube, digging the beatles sample

  17. m says:

I’m not sure if you’ll like this song, but thought I would share

  18. m says:

    oops, sorry. here’s the song

  19. mike says:

not sure if you’d consider this hip-hop, but I thought I’d let you be the judge. I guess it’s Dub? It’s pretty unique and the guy can put together some cool songs on the spot:

Had my playlist on random and found this song. Inspired by a murder that occurred at an Atmosphere concert in New Mexico, I like this song 1) for it’s simplicity and soulful sample and 2) because it’s a window into a person’s struggle to understand the random and shitty things that can happen in the world

  21. MB says:

I know at first glace you might be hesitant to put this one up. But listen to the hook and the gravelly voice. I can’t help it, it’s just catchy

found a few jems on your blog! .. heres a song i discovered in tofino a year ago … good laid back vibe 🙂

  23. this one came up on my playlist the other day. I’m not a huge fan of the song, but it’s a neat concept to make the lyrics of a song follow the alphabet. I was also listening to Abdominal – Breath Later and had a question for you, he talks about rapping 8 or 16 bars without breathing, what exactly is a bar? Is there a certain length, a certain number of beats? Maybe you can elaborate on this at some point. Another suggestion might be to add a definitions section of the website (maybe it’s too nerdy, but thinking of that song where the dude raps about cooking up beats could be better understood if we had a glossary).

    • I think the typical bar has 4 beats in it. So if you are tapping your foot along to a song, 4 taps would be one bar. Now, that is just me trying to remember my saxophone-middle-school days but I’m pretty sure that is right. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

As for the definition section, I would like to do that but I too am not the greatest at the lingo. Like for that Abdominal song where he is cooking beats, I could probably maybe define only half of what he is talking about. The other half I probably have an idea of what he is talking about but you know, there is a good chance it is wrong. I’m a backpacker, what can I say.

  24. HS says:

yeah its from 2001, but i think its catchy and dance worthy for sure.
